In April, NCCOR launched a series of new communication tools and technologies that translate and disseminate research applications of the Healthy Eating Index (HEI) for researchers, practitioners, and decision makers and ultimately highlight changes needed to enable healthier food choices for all Americans.
The HEI is a tool designed to measure diet quality—that is, how closely an eating pattern or combination of foods matches the Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommendations. February 2013 marks the fourth year anniversary of the National Collaborative on Childhood Obesity Research’s (NCCOR) website, www.nccor.org. NCCOR is devoted to moving childhood obesity research forward and is dedicated to reducing and preventing childhood obesity in the United States. In an effort to make sure we are meeting the needs of our users, we are seeking YOUR FEEDBACK about NCCOR’s products, materials, and/or impact on our users and the field of childhood obesity prevention research.
Have you used the NCCOR Catalogue of Surveillance Systems? Ever looked for a funding opportunity on our website? Ever referred a colleague to something on the NCCOR blog? Did you find our Resources tab well-organized? Do you read our monthly e-newsletter? What can we do better? If you’ve ever used an NCCOR product, we want to know about it.
Send your feedback to email@example.com, or tweet us @NCCOR. Will will collect feedback until Feb. 19 so send us your thoughts before then!
Librarians at the Maternal and Child Health Library (MCH Library) at Georgetown University have selected the National Collaborative on Childhood Obesity Research (NCCOR) to be part of their new edition of the knowledge path, Overweight and Obesity in Children and Adolescents.
The knowledge path directs readers to a selection of current, high-quality resources about the prevention, identification, management, and treatment of overweight and obesity in children and adolescents in homes, schools, and communities. MCH librarians developed the resource to help health professionals, program administrators, policy makers, and researchers learn more about overweight and obesity in children and adolescents; improve care; develop programs; and locate training resources and information to answer specific questions.
